In 1969, Buckminster Fuller said we are entering “The Final Exam”. In this exam, humanity would need to accelerate our learning and work together to effectively harness exponentially growing technology.
If we succeed, we would pass the exam and create a utopian future. If we fail, technology would ultimately destroy us:
“Make the world work, for 100% of humanity, in the shortest possible time, through spontaneous cooperation, without ecological offense or the disadvantage of anyone.”
– R. Buckminster Fuller
Genius Group is working with governments, businesses and education organizations to launch 100 Genius Cities competing and collaborating to ignite the genius of over 100 million people in a World Game to harness the power of AI and exponential technologies for the benefit of humanity.
Each Genius City will measure its progress in income and impact, taking part in quarterly AI challenges leading to Genius Rankings and Genius Awards.
Our Genius Cities, combined with our global Edtech marketplace of AI training, AI tools and AI talent, will lead to a global library of success stories and case studies of using AI and exponential technologies to enhance humanity and pass the Final Exam.
Genius Group’s origins date back to 2002 with the creation of the Wealth Dynamics system by Roger James Hamilton, a futurist and social entrepreneur. It is a personality-profiling tool for entrepreneurs to discover their strengths and weaknesses and build an entrepreneurial team. In 2005, Vision Villa Resort, a Bali-based entrepreneur resort was opened with the vision to deliver in-person entrepreneur training in exotic locations. By 2012, Wealth Dynamics grew into a global company with a community of over 250,000 entrepreneurs.
From 2012 to 2015, Genius Group developed a number of initiatives under the Entrepreneurs Institute brand. These included the Global Entrepreneur Summit and Entrepreneur Fast Track Event series, hosted annually in 18 countries.
It also included Talent Dynamics, a corporate version of Wealth Dynamics used by large multinationals, and a full entrepreneur system to grow from startup to the first million dollars in revenue called “The Millionaire Masterplan” which became a New York Times Bestselling book in 2014.
During this period, Roger also became the founding Chairman of the Green School in Bali, where he established the Green School board of directors.
The Green School attracted global attention as a new model of schooling with its environmental and student-centered approach to learning. It won the inaugural “Greenest School in the World” award from the Center for Green School at the U.S. Green Building Council, and became a global case study for new models of schooling.
This need for an education revolution based on a global, scalable, high-tech, high-touch model led to the launch of GeniusU as the edtech arm of Entrepreneurs Institute in 2015. From 2015 to 2017, it rapidly grew from 313,000 to 736,000 students.
In 2019, a pivotal decision was made to evolve the GeniusU company into Genius Group as a Singapore-based public limited company in order to continue our growth via investment and acquisitions. GeniusU continues to be the wholly-owned edtech subsidiary of the Group. In August 2019, Entrepreneurs Institute was acquired by Genius Group for $8 million. In 2019, Genius Group reached 1.2 million students with $29 million in revenues.
From 2020 to 2022, Genius Group continued to grow through organic growth and acquisitions, and had its IPO on NYSE American as a public listed company in April 2022. By the end of 2022 the group had developed a full life long entrepreneurial curriculum with the acquisition of Education Angels, E Square Education, University of Antelope Valley and Property Investors Network. The group ended the year with $18 million in pro forma revenue and 4 million students.
In 2023, with the launch of OpenAI and the start of the AI Revolution, we saw a high demand for AI education. GeniusU extended its Genie AI to a full AI avatar army together with its Genius City model. While smart cities have smart technology, Genius Cities have smart teams and smart tech - where the key is an education system to harness exponential technologies.
This has led to the acquisition of FatBrain AI in early 2024 and pending acquisition of OpenExO to anchor our position as the global leaders in AI education and acceleration, with 2023 becoming our year of fastest growth with 150% pro forma revenue growth to $70 million, serving 5.5 million students. We are now targeting over 10 million students served in 2024, with a target of 100 million students by 2030.
